Menstruation Hygiene Awareness Campaign - 25 January 2021

Out of a total of 336 million menstruating women in India, only 35% of them make use of sanitary napkins. Unclean habits during the menstrual cycle can be detrimental to the health of women and cause severe illnesses like PCOS and cervical cancer. This can be avoided by educating women on healthy menstrual habits and helping them make an informed choice.

To promote the use of safe products during the menstrual cycle, Ashwin Malik Meshram Foundation conducted a Menstruation Hygiene Awareness Campaign in Chunabhatti. The volunteers advised the women against using unsafe alternatives and encouraged them to practice a clean and hygienic period. The women in attendance were given 3 months’ worth of sanitary pads and advised on various female hygiene tips. 100+ women were a part of the Sanitary Pad Donation Drive.
