Most people that belong to economically weaker sectors tend to be uneducated and hence lack awareness of the various government schemes that they are eligible for. One such scheme is the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, that has been launched by the Government of India in order to provide efficient financial services with an integrated approach to raise awareness about financial inclusion and offer banking services to those in need. In an attempt to make this scheme accessible for as many people as possible, Ashwin Malik Meshram Foundation in association with Mr. Parag Alavani (BJP MLA, Vile Parle Assembly) organised a Jan Dhan Drive in Vile Parle, where our volunteers advised people about various government investment schemes and helped 300+ people open zero balance accounts.
