We are still a long way off from fighting cultural and religious taboos when it comes to a woman dealing with her periods. In our country, sanitary napkins are used by only 18% of women.
Majority of the reproducing population in India is left to manage their periods in an unsafe manner using old rags, leaves, and other unhygienic and ineffective materials.
To help alleviate the problems of women around us, Ashwin Malik Meshram Foundation has launched the initiative ‘Saheli’.
Under this initiative, we aim to increase awareness about personal hygiene and to distribute sanitary napkins to women from underprivileged sections of the society.
